Family & Faith Night -- or as I like to call it, Sweet Tea Night -- at Riverbend has become a big hit.
Only three of the five stages are active, alcohol sales are curtailed and families and church groups show up en masse to hear predominently Christian- or religious-based music.
This year, fans will have a chance to see and hear the 16-member a cappella ensemble Voices of Lee from up the road in Cleveland, Tenn.
Comprised of Lee University students under the direction of Danny Murray, the group has made a national name for itself thanks to numerous television appearances, most notably on NBC's "The Sing-Off," where the group finished as second runner-up in 2009.
They've appeared on "Good Morning America" and been a part of Bill Gaither's "Family Fest" and his video series; they have sung at the White House during Christmas.
You don't often get to hear an a cappella group at Riverbend, so this is a chance to hear a really good one and to support a local act.
The Voices of Lee have been around for 19 years and have recorded several CDs. You can check out some of their work, including their version of Ben E. King's "Stand By Me," which they did on "The Sing Off," on YouTube.
But hearing them live is better.
