Q: Dad, why do some of our conversations sound like lectures with you doing most of the talking?
A: It's a flaw in a lot of parents and definitely in me. We want so badly to impart all of our "wisdom" on you that we try do it all at once sometimes. We also have the benefit of time and experience. Though you don't believe that we could possibly understand what you are going through, we often do and try to run interference for you, even though we realize you have to learn for yourself.
