Freezin' for a Reason raises $20,000 for Special Olympics

What: Supporters of Special Olympics actually paid money for the chance to jump into an above-ground swimming pool filled with icy water when Freezin' For a Reason was held in Finley Stadium on Feb. 14. Dylan Phelps won best individual costume for his Kiss guitarist, Ace Frehley, look. Chattanooga State Community College's EMS program won best group costuming for their yellow and blue Minions outfits, inspired by the movie "Despicable Me."

Benefits: To participate, individuals had to raise a minimum of $50; or $40 for students. The event total topped $20,000 for Special Olympics Tennessee.
