Banquet raises $32,000 for Medal of Honor Heritage Center

- What: About 250 guests recently attended the Charles H. Coolidge Medal of Honor Heritage Center's annual awards banquet at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Retired Col. Wesley L. Fox, U.S. Marine Corps and Vietnam Medal of Honor recipient, was the guest speaker.

- Benefits: The banquet raised $32,000 to support the current Heritage Center. Plans are underway to build a new 6,800-square-foot Heritage Center that will honor recipients of the Medal of Honor, educate future generations about the medal and its significance and specifically honor the 10 men from this area who have been awarded the Medal of Honor for their actions in World War I, World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars.
