Folk music legend Arlo Guthrie will perform during a Sept. 24 benefit at City Center for WTCI-TV 45. The event is being sponsored by developers Byron and Ken DeFoor.

The upscale event will be held outdoors at the newly revitalized intersection of Chestnut and Eighth streets, including the redesigned and re-purposed alleyways.

Todd Womack, chief of staff for Senator Bob Corker, will serve as master of ceremonies for the program during which long-time WTCI/PBS philanthropist, Fletcher Bright will be honored. Other speakers will include guests Cherie Martinez, former Miami Dolphins Coach Don Shula, and more. Attendees will enjoy live performances by featured artist Arlo Guthrie, The Dismembered Tennesseans and Priscilla and Little Rickee.

Guthrie is perhaps best known for both his songs of protest and the classic songs "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" and the cover of Steve Goodman's "City of New Orleans."

The event will feature a seated dinner including bar/beverage, fantastic entertainment, door prizes and raffle prizes for a $250 purchase price. For an additional $1,500, a VIP pass holder will have a 1 in 125 chance to win a 2016 convertible Porsche 911 Cabriolet, a 1972 Miami Dolphins Don Shula autographed helmet, Rolex watches, MacBooks, and more courtesy of event hosts, the DeFoor Brothers, and sponsors Porsche of Chattanooga and RoneRegency Jewelers.
