Kane BrownTwo Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School alumni received Academy of Country Music award nominations this morning.
During a live announcement on CBS, Kane Brown was nominated in the New Male Vocalist of the Year category. He is up against Chris Janson, Chris Lane, Jon Pardi and Brett Young.
Lauren Alaina was nominated for New Female Vocalist of the Year. She is competing with Cam, Brandy Clark and Maren Morris for the honor.
Morris won the Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance for "My Church" on Feb. 12. She tied with Miranda Lambert for six ACM nominations. Keith Urban topped the list of nominees with seven nominations in five categories.
The ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas on April 2 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
