What: Chattanooga Music Club held its annual summer community concert at Memorial Auditorium recently. Nearly 1,000 guests heard featured organist Dr. John Schwandt of the University of Oklahoma School of Music play the historic Austin pipe organ. Greg Glover emceed the program.

As is tradition, the patriotic program included a salute to active military and veterans. This included a color guard of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School JROTC cadets, Capt. Mickey McCamish leading the Pledge of Allegiance, an address by Adm. Vance Fry in remembrance of deceased veterans, patriotic music sung by Margaret Abernathy and "Taps" played by David Nall.

Benefits: Although the concert was free, $1,500 was collected in donations for the club's ongoing maintenance of the Austin organ.
