- What: Hundreds of volunteers and local celebrities manned 36 McDonald's restaurants on June 2 for Day of Change. Diners were asked to donate their spare change for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga, proving how even the smallest donation can make an impact in combination with others.

- Benefits: The event raised $21,859 in three and a half hours that morning. Additionally, the Chattanooga Times Free Press donated 75 cents from each $1 newspaper sale.

- Participants: The following businesses collected donations at their offices as well as sending employees to McDonald's locations: area branches of Regions Bank, Cigna, Chapter 13 Trustees Office, Pediatric Dentistry in Cleveland and Hixson, Benchmark Physical Therapy in Dalton and Fort Oglethorpe, B.W. James Jewelers, Chattanooga Allergy Clinic, WCA-CPAs and Skin Cancer and Dermatology.
