A 5-year-old Georgia girl died Thursday night, one day after she was in a wreck that killed both her grandparents, officials said.

Emily Danielle Caldwell, of Rocky Face, died in Erlanger hospital, where she was taken after a car driven by her grandfather collided with a dump truck on U.S. Highway 41, according to the Georgia State Highway Patrol.

Around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Richard Ridley, 73, was driving south on U.S. 41 with his wife, Norene Ridley, 66, and Emily when he attempted to make a left turn onto Old Chattanooga Road and was hit by an oncoming dump truck, the highway patrol said.

Mr. Ridley and his wife were pronounced dead at the scene.
