Foreclosure isn't the only option for homeowners in financial trouble, a local housing official says.
"Help is available," said David Johnson, executive director of Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise and the speaker today at the annual Fair Housing Luncheon.
April is Fair Housing Month and Mr. Johnson spoke to nearly 150 people who attended the event.
Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise's foreclosure hotline number is 644-HOME, Mr. Johnson said, and the line offers help to families who may be in danger of losing their homes.
Mr. Johnson said about 30 to 40 people a month come to his office for counseling, he said.
