Photo exhibit on TVA architecture on display

MURRAY, Ky. - A traveling photo exhibit explores the Tennessee Valley Authority's influence on architecture.

The photos of Richard Barnes feature the designs of TVA structures built in the 1930s and 1940s, during and shortly after the Great Depression. Photos of contemporary structures whose designs were influenced by the older ones are also on display.

The photos were originally produced for a book and the collection was sponsored by the Tennessee Architecture Foundation.

The exhibit is titled "Power and Domesticity: The architectural Legacy of TVA" and is on display free of charge at the Wrather East Kentucky Museum on the campus of Murray State University through April 24.
