Chattanooga: Shots fired twice in 24 hours on Bailey Avenue

For the second time in 24 hours, Chattanooga police have been called to Bailey Avenue on reports of shots fired.

No one has been injured in either incident, said Sgt. Jerri Weary, police spokeswoman.

Just before 8 p.m. Monday, police responded to home of Kimberly Franklin at 2112 Bailey Ave. and found that the house had been damaged in an apparent drive-by shooting, Sgt. Weary said. Ms.Franklin told police that an older, dark-colored Acura drove by the house and someone from the vehicle fired into her home.

Police went back today to the same address on another call of shots fired and found evidence of fired rounds, Sgt. Weary said. Police recovered shell casings and a gun from the scene but still have no suspect leads in the case, she said.

According to witnesses, a black male wearing a white T-shirtwas standing at the side of the house and fired a shot into a blue vehicle that was driving slowly by the residence, Sgt. Weary said.

Police are evaluating details from both incidents to establish suspect leads, she said.
