Plane crashes into local building

A man cutting grass at the Dallas Bay Airpark became an eyewitness to a plane crash. At 8:25 pm, he calls 9-1-1 reporting a plane had crashed into a building at 1824 Crabtree Road(Middle Valley area).

Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived on the scene confirming a CESSNA Skyhawk II had crashed into the building.

Two passengers were on board. The pilot (male) was transported by Hamilton County EMS for minor injuries. The passenger (female) was not transported.

The owner of the aircraft, Mark Winton, said the plane is a total loss and valued at $40,000. He also mentioned the CESSNA Skyhawk II had no mechanical problems.

The cause of the crash will be determined by the NTSB. FAA was notified of the crash as well.
