Fire destroys home in Red Bank

The Red Bank Fire Department was called to 4007 McCahill Road around 4:15 p.m. on a house fire.

When firefighters arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames.

With the assistance of the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department and Walden's Ridge Emergency Services the fire was kept from spreading to an adjacent house.

The homeowner sustained minor injuries in the fire and was treated at the scene by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services. According to reports, Red Bank Deputy Chief Brent Syler said the cause of the fire was accidental when the homeowner knocked over a kerosene heater.

The home was a total loss, according to reports.
