GSU beats Lady Mocs in OT

STATESBORO, Ga. - Kylie Lambert hit a 3-pointer in the closing seconds to force overtime, but the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team couldn't stop Georgia Southern in the extra period.

The Eagles outscored the Lady Mocs 14-6 in overtime to beat UTC 77-69 this afternoon at Hanner Fieldhouse.

UTC's Whitney Hood finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds for her second straight double-double, but she also had eight turnovers as the Lady Mocs (3-7, 1-2) dropped their third game in a row.

MiMi DuBose hit five 3-pointers and led Georgia Southern (3-8, 1-2) with 19 points.

Kayla Christopher added 14 points for UTC, Lambert scored 11 and Meghan Downes had a career-high 10 off the bench.
