Eway Bowman Jr.
Eway Bowman Jr., 84, of Ooltewah, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010.
He was a member of New Shepard Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Bowman served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Ooltewah Masonic Lodge #741. He was retired from the Hamilton County Highway Department.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Eway and Sallie Bowman Sr.; one daughter, Patsy Miller; one grandson, Travis Miller; several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Smith Bowman, of Ooltewah; son, Fred (Margaret) Browning, of Birchwood; three daughters, Donna (Tommy) Kirby, of Soddy-Daisy, Kathy Ford, of Hixson, and Reida Lunsford, of Ooltewah; one brother, Henry Bowman, of Birchwood; three, sisters, Margie Bettis, of Georgetown, Lula Ford, of Birchwood, and Vergie Peavyhouse, of McDonald, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend and neighbors, Nelson, Carla and Melinda Baker.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Browning officiating.
Interment will follow in Ooltewah Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends today from 2-8 p.m. and on Wednesday up to the hour of service at the funeral home.

Beatrice Campbell
Mary Beatrice Campbell, 89, of Hixson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010.
Beatrice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of Hixson First Baptist and later Falling Water Baptist. Beatrice was a lover of nature who enjoyed gardening, and watching birds and butterflies.
She was born in White County, Tenn. on Oct. 18, 1920, to the late James Franklin and Cora Mae Davis Sapp. Beatrice received nurse's training at Erlanger Nursing School from 1940-1942. She later contributed to the World War II effort by working in a military defense plant in Ohio. After returning to Chattanooga, she worked as a nurse at the tuberculosis hospital, and then in the 1980's, she was a nurse at the Baylor School Infirmary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Juanita Cookson and Geneva Meeks.
Beatrice is survived by her husband of 67 years, L.R. "Rube" Campbell; two sons, James W.T. Campbell, of Chattanooga and Gary (Donna) Campbell, of Soddy-Daisy; daughter, Denise (Joe Alan) McGee, of Tulsa, Okla.; 11 grandchildren, James W.T. (Tracey) Campbell Jr., Misty Campbell, Joe (Kellie) Campbell, Jon Campbell, Laura (Josh) Stephenson, Sarah Ramsey, Jessica McGee, Corrie McGee, Tessa McGee, Lauren McGee, John McGee; four great-grandchildren, Hope Campbell, Kelsey Moreno, Hayley Moreno, Leah Campbell and Noah Stephenson; three brothers, Bob Sapp, Lloyd Sapp and Ronnie Sapp, all of Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today and noon to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the North Chapel.
Services for Beatrice will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the North Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Taylor and her son-in-law, the Rev. Joe Alan McGee officiating.
Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Rev. Horace Chapman
The Rev. Horace Francis Chapman, of Chattanooga died at a local nursing home on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Chapman was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
Born on Oct. 16, 1919, Horace was a retired Southern Baptist Minister who pastored churches in Texas, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida. He was a graduate of Mercer University in Macon, Ga., and the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice "Pete" Chapman; son, Horace Chapman III.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Hunt Chapman, of Chattanooga; brother, Walter (Ida Ray) Chapman, of Valrico, Fla.; daughters, Anna Marie Segall and Mary Lynn Sankey; grandchildren, Heather Segall, David Chapman; one great-granddaughter, Isabella Segall, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; step-children, Emily (Paul) Perrine, Nancy (Jerry) Follis, and John (Althea) Hunt all of Chattanooga.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Chapman and the Rev. Bert Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends for visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 at the North Chapel.

Harmon Colby
Harmon R. Colby, 96, of Chattanooga, died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, with his family at his side.
He was born in Peek, Okla. to Harmon E. and Abbie R. Colby. His grandfather, the late Joseph R. Colby, was the founder of Colby, Kan.
Mr. Colby served with distinction in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Lockheed-Martin in Chattanooga as a tool and die inspector and was an avid gardener who loved to share the fruits of his labor - especially his famous tomatoes.
He was a longtime member of Brainerd Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Gertrude L. Hurn and Lavona Della Stamps; and a grandson, Matt Reed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy "Dot" Clonts Colby; children Linda C. Thompson, Bob (Joy) Colby and Nancy Reed (Bob) Carroll; brother, Chester Colby, Grand Haven, Mich.; grandchildren, Christopher J. Thompson, Missy Brooks, David M. Thompson, Beth Locke, Lauren H. Colby and Steven W. Colby; and great-grandchildren, Cassie Duncan and Tura Thompson.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S.Moore Road, with the Rev. Barry Wilks officiating.
Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, McDonald, Tenn.

Ruth Jones
Ruth J. Jones, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Alexian Brothers Healthcare Center.
Born in Dayton, Ky., on July 7, 1916, her family moved to California when she was a young child. Ruth was active throughout her life as a trained soprano singing on the radio, stage, churches and special events in her community. Ruth relocated to Chattanooga in 1998.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard V. Jones, after 62 years of marriage.
Survivors include three children: Barbara Smith, of Nashville, Marilyn (Paul) Ashley, of Hixson and Dennis Jones, of Red Bank; grandson, Don (Jan) Smith of Temecula, CA; granddaughter, Karen Reynolds, of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kelsey and Carli Smith.
A memorial service will be 1 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 in the chapel.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service and also following the service.

Louise Knox, 87, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, in Douglasville, Ga.

Jaunita McCay
Juanita Christine Owen McCay died peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, and immediately entered heaven to join her beloved Lord Jesus Christ and her heavenly family.
Juanita was born on July 27, 1916 in Troup, Texas to Frank Stone Owen and Ethel Mae Tyson. She was educated at North Texas University in Denton, Texas and became a career elementary education teacher for 35 years. Juanita married the love of her life, the Rev. L.B. McCay and they were married just less than fifty years. When the Rev. McCay passed away Juanita moved to Chattanooga to be near her daughter and family and resided here for over 20 years.
She was a longtime member of Silverdale Baptist Church where her pastor and dear friend was the Rev. Herschel Woodburn. During her years at Silverdale she was thrilled to travel with her church group to Israel for an extended tour. While there, Rev. Woodburn rebaptised Juanita in the Jordon River which was so meaningful to her. In her later years, she joined East Ridge Baptist which was her church home until her death.
Juanita was a prayer warrior and prayed daily for her family and friends. She was a gifted singer and piano player and loved the old time Baptist hymns. While living here she became interested in acting and had roles in three movies including playing the role of Sandra Bullock's grandmother in Love Potion No. 9. She continued acting in television commercials including Coca-Cola and First Federal Savings and Loan as well as doing print modeling and industrial training films. Juanita loved doing this work and she always felt so special that she could do this in her retirement years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, the Rev. L.B. McCay; and four sisters, Katherine Wilkerson, Mary Lou Covaness, Helen McWhorter and Louise Owens; and dearly loved son-in-law, Lloyd Carver III.
Survivors include her precious son, Walter Bell McCay of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Kathy Carver, of Ooltewah; greatly loved grandchildren, Michael (Teresa) Carver, Brian Craig Carver, Walt Thompson McCay, Blake McCay and Matthew McCay, Dawn Thompson McCay Ziehe, Tisa McCay, Angela McCay and Mikala McCay; nine great-grandchildren; and granddogs, Josie and Daisy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at the funeral home with visitation 15 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will be in San Benito, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Gideon's International.

Earl Melton
Earl O'Neal Melton, 86 of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, in a local hospital.
He was ordained a deacon and served as a Sunday School teacher at East Chattanooga Baptist Tabernacle and was currently a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church and the Lighthouse Sunday School Class. He was retired from J.C. Penney and had done air conditioning work as well. Mr. Melton was an avid golfer, loved music, played the guitar, loved to draw and paint and do woodworking, was very artistic and had a good sense of humor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving most of his time on the Marshall Islands.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter C. and Myrtie Ann Radford Melton.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Melton; five daughters, Connie Fresquez, Janet Shell, Debbie Howard and Lori Smith, all of Chattanooga and Lisa Waters, of Houston, Texas; three sons, Earl Melton Jr., of Nashville, David Melton, of Findlay, Ohio, and Chester Melton, of Port Richie, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Janelle Ferguson, of Madison, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor David Melton and the Rev. Jerry Atkins officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

Betty Neligan
Ann "Betty" Elizabeth Neligan, 79, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, after an extended illness.
She was born March 20, 1930 in Chattanooga to the late Nicholas and Ann Stolpmann Neligan.
Betty was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She had worked at South Chicago Community Hospital and Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse and retired from Erlanger Medical Center as a histology technologist. She also served with Catholic Charities.
Her brother, Nicholas M. Neligan Jr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sister and caregiver, Louise Neligan, of Chattanooga; sister, Mary "Bunny" Neligan West and her husband, Vernon, of Ellijay, Ga.; many cousins and close friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Henry Stoloff
Henry Stoloff, 54, of Chattanooga passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at his residence of natural causes.
Henry graduated from McCallie School where he was yearbook editor, and Keo-Kio president, a graduate of Duke University with a degree in Judaic studies/archaeology.
Henry operated the family business Angel Printing for many years, before becoming an agent for Chattanooga Real Estate Consultants. His civic involvement included participation in Leadership Chattanooga, Bill Holmberg Arts Leadership Institute, past Chairman of the Mission District B.S.A., Eagle Scout, and recipient of the Shofar and Silver Beaver Awards, was a member of the Chattanooga Urban League Board, inaugural co-president of CSLA-PTA; and past president of his beloved congregation, Mizpah with his most recent commitment being co-chair of Social Action.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Stoloff and Sarah Morris Stoloff.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Baumgardner Stoloff; son, James A. Stoloff; daughter, Sarah Stoloff; sister, Elizabeth "Buffy" Stoloff Vehse; niece, nephew and several cousins.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Feb. 16, 2010 at Mizpah Congregation, 923 McCallie Avenue with burial and meal of consolation to follow.

SPRING CITY - Donny O'Neal Davis, 58, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at his residence.
Born in Mobile, Ala., Donny was the son of the late Roland and Zetta Lee Jackson Davis. He moved to the Spring City area in 1991 from Mobile. Donny retired from J. M Huber Corporation in Spring City in 2007 and was currently employed as a materials inspector at the TVA's Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. He was a member of the Grandview Twirlers and attended Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
Donny is survived by his wife of 17 years, Brenda Mathis Davis, of Spring City; daughters, Christie (Russell) Butler, of Spring City and Stacey (Neal) Harris, of Semmes, Ala.; stepdaughters, Alisha (Marty) Hughes, of Soddy-Daisy and Jessica (Billy) Mooneyham, of Evensville; brother, Herman Davis, of Wilmer, Ala.; and sisters, Betty Griffin and Tressie Tanner, both of Wilmer, Ala., Rachael Dixson, of Saraland, Ala., Arlene Graham, of Escatawpa, Miss., and Nellie Griffin, of Lucedale, Miss.; and grandchildren, Josh and Jonah Butler, Kiersten Harris, Cailyn and Olivia Hughes, and McKenna and Tucker Mooneyham.

He was born Oct. 1, 1913 in Nashville, to John Woodruff Jordan Sr. and Nellie Terry Jordan. Lap retired from BellSouth Telephone Co. with 45 years of service. He worked in the construction and engineering division in Nashville, and also in District Offices in Chattanooga, Columbia, Memphis, Knoxville and Orlando, Fla. He was a beloved member of West Park Baptist Church. He was active with the Gideons International, Central Camp, the Telephone Pioneers of America and the American Red Cross.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nell Pledger Jordan; sister, Arabelle Comer; brothers, Joseph Terry Jordan and Robert Haynes Jordan.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 62 years, Nancy Moudy Jordan; sons, John Woodruff Jordan III and wife, Amelia, of Oliver Springs, Tenn., Timothy David Jordan and wife, Ann, of Knoxville; daughter, Bonni Sue Jordan, formerly of Carolina Beach, N.C.; grandchildren, Thomas Kerry Jordan, Craig William Jordan, Kathryn Denise Jordan, Sgt. Jeremy Shane Jordan, Jill Kristen Feimster and Andrew G. Jordan; great-grandchildren, Thomas Alexander Jordan, Samuel Jordan, Jeremiah Caleb Jordan and Joshua Adam Jordan; sister, Jane Jordan Griffin and husband, George, of Nashville; brother, Thomas Harold Jordan, of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Martha May Moudy, of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the Smoky Mountain Hospice for the care well give in the last week of Mr. Jordan's life, in addition to the numerous friends for their support and care during the last few weeks.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday followed by a Celebration of Life at 7 p.m. at West Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob St. John and the Rev. Sam Polson officiating.

Gladys Norman
EVENSVILLE - Gladys Elizabeth Norman, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.
She was born Jan. 26, 1919. and was the daughter of the late John Solyman and Vesta Amanda Paine Norman of Evensville.
Elizabeth will always be remembered for her loving adoption of the many unwanted animals who found their way to her doorstep over the years, for the beauty of the flowers that always surrounded her home, for her incredible strength through difficult times, and for her love for her family and friends.
She was employed by Dixie Yarns, Chattanooga, for 42 years, and retired in 1984.
She was preceded in death by her husband and companion of 46 years, Robert Tate Cunnyngham; her sister, Madge Norman; her brother, Doyle Norman; and her sister-in-law, Anna Ruth Norman.
She is survived by her aunt and lifelong friend, Betty Norman, of Minden, La.; her niece, Jimmie Ruth Barnes, of Evensville; her stepchildren, Sherilyn Moss, Portland, Ore., James Cunnyngham, Marietta, Ga., Deborah Boyd, Athens, Ga., Michael Cunnyngham and his wife, Beverly, of Evensville. eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 16, at Norman Family Cemetery in Evensville with the Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating.

CLEVELAND - Rev, Carl Jackson Scoggins, 81, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was a minister of the Gospel and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. He attended West Coast Bible College. After being called to preach in the 1950s he traveled to California to start the Bellflower Church of God. He also pastored in Nevada, North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee. He worked Tennessee youth camps, evangelized and served as a chaplain with the Tennessee prisons. After retiring he enjoyed his prison and radio ministries (WFLI) until his health declined.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence E. Scoggins Sr. and Roseanna Goins Scoggins; brothers, Don Scoggins, Claude Scoggins, Bobby Scoggins and Clarence "Junior" Scoggins; and son-in-law, Larry Turner.

CLEVELAND - Sherry Beaty Tunks passed away at her home Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010.
Sherry was born in Birmingham, Ala., Dec. 13, 1937. She moved to Cleveland with her family when she was a child. She was a graduate of Bradley High School, class of 1957. Sherry attended Tennessee Wesleyan College and was a graduate of Atlanta Business College.
She was office manager of Georgia Marble Co. in Atlanta for 15 years before she moved to Philadelphia and then to Dallas, Texas with her husband. Sherry loved Dallas and made many lifelong friends there.
Upon her return to Cleveland, she worked with and retired from Guy Roofing Company. She loved trips to the beach, Nascar and the movies. Sherry with her sister and nephew spent time in Tucson with their dog, Whitney and Cali-cat, also enjoying a fun trip in her R.V. to the surrounding areas.
Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Lois (Willie) Baker Beaty; grandparents, Thomas Portman and Bertie Beaty of Cleveland; Sarah and William I. Baker; uncles, Owen and Buck Baker; aunt, Mary Lou Arledge all of Birmingham; aunt, Hazel and Bert Billig, of Cleveland and constant companion and family pet, Whitney.
Sherry is survived by her father and stepmother, Earl and Donna Anderson Beaty; stepbrothers, Steve (Janice) Anderson, of Nashville, Dale Anderson and their children and grandchildren; uncle, D.Z (Peggy) Beaty, of Cleveland; sister, Brenda Remine and adored nephew, Thomas Vichael Holland and several loving cousins and their families of Cleveland; Jennifer and Alison Miller, of Birmingham; her "Friends like Sisters" and chosen second families, Faye Holmes and her children, Greg Holmes and Yvette Waddell, Norma (Richard) Davis and their children, Jean (Jack) Hall, Curt (Teresa) Davis, Tyler (Theresa) Greeson, god-child and namesake, Sherry (Tim) Bryant; sister-friend and forever aunt, Midge Crawford and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Brenner Hixon.

KENNESAW - Arthur Elbert Howard, 73, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at home.
Mr. Howard was born in Red Bank to the late Orvin Howard and Margaret Watkins Howard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna June Frizzell Howard.
He is survived by his son, Arthur F. Howard, of Kennesaw; his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Charlie Smith, of Signal Mountain, and in-laws, Gene and Lillian Frizzell, of La Porte, Texas.
He was a Tool Planner for Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems, retiring after 36 years of service in 1999. He enjoyed golf, surfing the internet, and was a good handyman. He graduated from Kirkman High School in 1954.

ROSSVILLE - Betty Knight, 77, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at her home.
Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life. She worked as a Patient Aide at the Signal Center.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio he has lived in the Chattanooga, North Georgia area for the past 47 years. He is a former employee of Jackson Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, GMC, in LaFayette, where he worked as the Director of Parts and Service and was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Rocky Face, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles V. Latimer.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Ellis Latimer, of Tunnel Hill; mother, Jean F. Latimer, of Rossville; daughter, Jill (Mark) Bishop, of Cleveland, Tenn.; granddaughter, Emily Bishop; brother, Ronald (Linda) Latimer, of Mt. Alice Pressly
ATLANDA - Alice McCallie Pressly, 95, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.
She belonged to two families who have long been involved in the history of independent education in the South, the McCallies in Tennessee and the Presslys in South Carolina. She herself played a seminal role in the founding of the Westminster Schools in Atlanta in 1951. She will be remembered by generations of Westminster graduates for her enthusiastic support and gracious hospitality, for her sparkling intelligence and wit, and for her commitment to the highest standards of excellence. Along with her husband, Dr. William L. Pressly, she played an important role in a chapter of the history of independent education in the South.
Born Aug. 23, 1914, Alice McCallie Pressly was the daughter of the late Spencer Jarnagan McCallie and Alice Fletcher McCallie of Chattanooga, part of a family that played a role in shaping Chattanooga from the early years of the nineteenth century. In 1905, her father, together with his brother, founded the McCallie School, which soon became a leading day-boarding school that set a standard for college preparatory education in the South. She took pride in the fact that her own brother and his son, her nephew, successively headed the school until the first years of the twenty-first century. After graduating from the Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, founded by her great aunt, she earned her B.A. from Agnes Scott College, where she received the Hopkins Jewel awarded to the senior who best lives up to the College's ideals.
While teaching at the Girls Preparatory School, she married William Laurens Pressly, faculty member at the McCallie School and the son, grandson, and great-grandson of Presbyterian ministers who had been intimately involved with the creation and development of Erskine College in Due West, S.C. Their commitment to the Presbyterian faith and deep devotion to each other and their family led to 59 years of a marriage filled with love and mutual support until her husband's death in 2001.
In 1951, her husband left his position as co-headmaster of McCallie to become the founding President of the Westminster Schools, an independent, non-denominational preparatory school in Atlanta. In that first summer of putting together a school from the ground up, the two worked to raise money, recruit young people, and even drove buses and served food. Their energy and dedication led to the fulfillment of their vision to establish one of the premier schools of this nation. Her sense of humor, graciousness as a hostess, and her commitment to working with the children, families and faculty of Westminster made her indispensable to its success during these formative years. Her calm presence, kindness, and faith set a tone for the fledgling institution. In 1994, the Board of Trustees recognized her devotion by dedicating the plaza in front of Pressly Hall to her: "Alice McCallie Pressly Plaza: Dedicated in honor of her loving and selfless service to Westminster."
She also shared with her husband a passion for history. She was a member of the Nineteenth Century History Club and the Atlanta History Center. Her research into her own family's history led to her joining the Joseph Habersham Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The family wishes to thank the Westminster Schools for its extraordinary support of her since her husband's death. She thoroughly enjoyed such traditions as meeting the captains of the football team each fall and having the school chorus perform on her birthdays. She was as well a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church, and the family extends special thanks to the Reverend George Wirth for his devotion to her over so many years and for the encouragement and support he gave her and her family.
She is survived by her two sons, both of whom are educators, and their families, Paul Moffatt Pressly (Jane), of Savannah and William Laurens Pressly (Nancy), of Washington, D.C.; a grandson, David (Megan), of Atlanta; and two great-grandchildren, William Laurens Pressly and Caitlin Elizabeth Pressly; a brother, David McCallie (Madden), of Chattanooga; sister, Ellen McCallie Cochrane, of Winchester, Va.; and sister-in-law, Queenie McCallie, of Chattanooga, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and related family.
A memorial service will be at First Presbyterian Church, Thursday, Feb. 18, at a11 a.m.
Family will receive friends following the srevice.

LaFAYETTE - Troy B. Shaw, 94, went home to be with his Lord Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.
Mr. Shaw was a lifelong resident of Walker County and was preceded in death by his parents, Hill and Georgia Robinson Shaw; wife, Blanche Richardson Shaw; grandson David Hise; sisters, and brothers-in-law, Nellie Mae and Dan West and Gevena and Lewis Allmond.
He is survived by daughters, Patricia Sue Hise, of Rossville, Wanda Joyce Brock, of LaFayette; grandchildren, Robin Richardson, of Ringgold, Charles Hise, of Rossville; Cynthia (Randy) Bryant, of LaFayette; great-grandchildren, Nikki Richardson, of Ringgold, Christian (Shannon) Bryant, of Orlando, Fla. and Adriana (Joseph) Thompson, of LaFayette, several nieces and nephews and special friends and neighbors also survive.
