GOP senator to unveil Georgia gun bill

ATLANTA - Changes could be underway for Georgia's firearms laws.

State Sen. Mitch Seabaugh, a strong backer of gun rights, will unveil legislation on Tuesday which he says will clarify the state's confusing laws governing where residents can carry weapons.

Seabaugh said that when he talks to law enforcement officers, even they are sometimes unclear about how to enforce the law.

Gun rights supporters are pushing to allow the estimated 300,000 Georgians with gun permits to carry their weapons to more public gatherings.

Seabaugh, of Sharpsburg, is the GOP whip in the Senate.
