No injuries or leaks reported in early morning Chattanooga train derailment

Three railcars derailed at 4:30 a.m. near 2758 Chestnut Street in South Chattanooga.

Officials said none of the cars overturned and they have not had any reports of injuries.

The derailment involved a CSX locomotive and the three rail cars containing ethanol, but there was no leak, according to Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman Bruce Garner.

The rail cars were all upright and appeared to be undamaged. CSX will make repairs and also investigate the cause of the derailment.
