Hamilton County commissioners this morning got a first look at the proposed county budget of $638 million, which does not provide raises for county workers and keeps the current property tax rate.
The schools portion of the budget is $372 million.
The budget anticipates no increase in the cost of employee health premiums and no layoffs. It boosts corrections spending by more than $800,000 and includes more than $330,000 for the Regional Planning Commission and more than $360,000 for the nature park at Enterprise South.
Commissioners could vote on the budget Aug. 12.
