State Sen. Eric Stewart, D-Belvidere, criticized a delegation of Republican legislators on Thursday for a scheduled trip to Phoenix on Friday to present Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer with a nonbinding resolution supporting the state's toughest-in-the-nation law on immigration.

"Apparently Tennessee Republicans think political junkets to Arizona are more important than unemployment in their own districts," Stewart said in a news release.

Among the GOP lawmakers slated to visit Arizona are Rep. Jim Cobb of Spring City, Sen. Bill Ketron of Murfreesboro, Rep. Joe Karr of Lascassas and Rep. Tony Shipley, from Kingsport.
