Dalton: Police searching for church parking lot thief

Police in Dalton, Ga., are searching for a man suspected of breaking into cars parked at the First Presbyterian Church on two occasions.

The vehicle break-ins occurred on the morning of May 18 and the afternoon of May 19, and the suspect attempted to use the stolen bank cards from both break-ins to purchase gift cards from the Walmart on Shugart Road, said Dalton Police department spokesman Bruce Frazier.

The first time the suspect was denied purchase, because the card was canceled before he got to the cash register. But the second time he went, he managed to buy one $200 gift card before the stolen card was canceled. He left after being denied on his second attempt, Mr. Frazier said.

This suspect is also wanted in connection with entering auto cases in Catoosa County.

He is white, with a shaved head and brown goatee beard. If you have any information about this man's identity or these incidents, please contact Detective Jason Bishop with the Dalton Police Department at 706-278-9085, extension 214.
