Chattanooga: Al Chapman named as interim human services director

Al Chapman, the Faith-Based Initiative and Community Partnerships administrator, has been named the new interim director of the city's Human Services Department, city officials said today.

He replaces Bernadine Turner, who is retiring effective June 30.

"I have confidence in Al Chapman and his ability to manage this department," Mr. Littlefield said in a press release.

The change comes after the Human Services Department was recently criticized for failing to properly manage $3.6 million in Recovery and Reinvestment Act Weatherization Assistance Program funding.
