Red Cross honors eight Hometown Heroes

The Chattanooga chapter of the Red Cross honored its "Hometown Heroes" with an award luncheon Monday.

With Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher as the guest speaker, eight area individuals were honored.

Four Heritage High School students - Hannah McKinney, Jade VanHook, Jordan Gardner and Hannah Cecil - were given the Good Samaritan Youth Award for assisting an elderly man who was having a seizure.

Will John Rowe received the Red Cross Disaster Award. Dot Garrett was named the Red Cross Hospital Volunteer of the Year. Pastor Fred R. Fuller was named First Responder of the Year. Jim Bailey was given the Good Samaritan Adult Award.
