Chattanooga: Trial for Signal Mountain shooting set for November

A woman charged with trying to kill her ex-husband in his Signal Mountain chiropractic office last summer is set to go to trial in the matter on Nov. 9.

The couple's two daughters waited in the car while the incident took place.

Tina Marie Loher is charged with attempted first-degree murder in the incident, which left Dr. Terrance "Terry" Loher injured with a gunshot wound to the leg.

She also is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment since two other women were in the office at the time and witnessed the shooting.

Defense attorney Myrlene Marsa is attempting to get one count of reckless endangerment dropped. She argues that because the shooting was one continuous act, Ms. Loher should be charged with only one count of reckless endangerment.

In her diary, Ms. Loher wrote that she thought her ex-husband was "demonic-filled" and needed to be "destroyed" in order to quit making her life and the lives of her daughters miserable.
