Georgia: Rep. Deal resigns his congressional seat

Officials in U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal's Washington office confirmed Monday that the longtime Georgia Republican resigned his post following the Health Care Reform bill vote Sunday night.

Rep. Deal announced March 1 that he would resign from his seat on March 5 to seek the Georgia Governor's post. He then postponed his resignation in order to cast his vote on the reform bill.
