DALTON, Ga. - A Sunday night fight at Al Rollins Park that left two victims with stab wounds ended with three arrests by the Dalton Police Department, officers say.

Both victims have been treated and released from the hospital and are expected to make full recoveries, police spokesman Bruce Frazier said.

He said investigators believe the fight was gang related.

Antonio Mitchell, 17, and a juvenile victim told investigators they were walking home through the park at approximately 11 p.m., police said.

They told investigators that they were approached by a group of three Hispanic males who attacked them, according to a news release.

Mitchell told investigators that two of the males ganged up on his juvenile friend and started to stab him with a knife, and then knocked Mitchell to the ground when he tried to help.

After the group fled the park at 479 Threadmill Road, Mitchell said he realized that he had also been stabbed.

Police say a witness saw the attackers leave in a white Ford Explorer and took down the tag number, which led them to the three suspects.

17-year old Orlando Ramirez of 2819 Suncrest Street, 18-year old Francisco Juan of 203 North Frederick Street, and a juvenile were arrested and charged with aggravated assault and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Act, police say.

While the victims told investigators that the attack was unprovoked, the suspects said that the two groups were flashing gang signs at each other and it escalated into a fight, police said.

Frazier said the incident is still under investigation.
