ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team put up a fight tonight at Stegeman Coliseum against 18th-ranked Georgia.
The Lady Mocs hit 10 first-half 3-pointers and made some plays down low in the second, but came up short 79-69.
Against No. 4 Tennessee on Monday, the Lady Vols jumped out to a 19-0 lead and went on to thump UTC by 60, 103-43.
The Lady Mocs got behind 13-5 early on Friday but quickly got back in the game by hitting 3s. They hit 10 in the opening half, one shy of the school record.
Georgia led 46-40 at the break and held a 10-point cushion for most of the second half.
Tenisha Townsend led UTC (0-3) with 15 points.
