Pastor died from stab wounds, blunt force injuries, report says

A local pastor died from "multiple stab wounds and blunt force injuries," according to a Hamilton County Medical Examiner's office report.

The report concludes that Rev. David Strong, pastor at St. Paul AME Church, sustained dozens of superficial cuts and bruises on his side, head and throat. When police found his body Sunday, his wrists and ankles were bound.

Strong had 18 stab wounds on the right side of his torso, the report shows.

Police say Antonio Henry, 25, and his 16 year-old-cousin, Brendan Barnes, used a vase, sticks and knives to beat, stab and strangle the pastor after he was reluctant to give them his personal banking information.

Both men are charged with one count of felony murder and one count of especially aggravated robbery.
