Feds: Roller derby dispute led to Alabama bombings

MOBILE, Ala. - Federal investigators say a dispute over a roller derby team caused a woman to launch a bombing spree in Alabama.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Katherine Nelson has ruled that Samantha Leigh Kimbrough be jailed until her case is presented to a grand jury.

Authorities say Kimbrough's roommate was kicked off a roller derby team. They say the 32-year-old Kimbrough sought revenge by setting off a pipe bomb Aug. 21 at the DreamLand Skate Center in Mobile. She's also accused of detonating an earlier bomb at the same rink and flinging a failed device at the driveway of a team member of her roommate.

No one was hurt.

Kimbrough has not yet entered a plea to a bombmaking charge.
