NASHVILLE - State Funding Board members on Tuesday will consider $6.9 million in FastTrack grant requests for the two Amazon distribution centers the company is building in Hamilton and Bradley counties.

Amazon is spending $139.1 million on the facilities, which are eventually expected to employ about 1,500 full-time employees and as many as 5,500 part-time workers, Amazon officials have said.

Department of Economic and Community Development officials are recommending a $4 million FastTrack Infrastructure grant for the Chattanooga center. There is another $599,500 in FastTrack Job Training funds.

Development officials are recommending another $2.2 million to help with infrastructure needs at the Bradley County center, located near Charleston. Another $102,500 would go for training workers.
