Train victim's name released

Authorities have identified a man who was struck by a train Saturday night in Polk County, Tenn.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said the dead man was Timothy Laurence Moody, who lived in the area.

According to the police report, Moody struck by a northbound train near the Horn's Creek Bridge about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The conductor and engineer told investigators the man was sitting on the east rail when his feet toward the inside of the track and that he didn't move even though the crew blew the whistle and hit the emergency brake.
