A Chattanooga television reporter was arrested on a DUI charge over the weekend after a vehicle crash in Knox County, according to a Knox County Sheriff's Office report.

A deputy found WRCB-TV reporter Gordon Boyd standing outside his 2006 BMW near the intersection of Tazewell Pike and Maloneyville just before 2 a.m. Saturday, according to the police report.

Boyd was uninjured and told the deputy he had consumed a couple of alcoholic drinks, the report stated. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and refused to submit to chemical testing to determine his blood-alcohol level, the report stated.

Boyd was charged with an implied consent violation, the report stated.

Boyd worked in the Knoxville television market before coming to Chattanooga. He left his Knoxville job after a viral video showed him throw a clipboard after a news report.
