Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting incident in which a man was shot in the buttocks, spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said shortly after 11 p.m. today.

According to Weary's release, police found 18-year-old Clarence Orton III in the road near 37th Street and Central Avenue.

She said Orton was "very uncooperative" in giving details of where he was shot or by whom. Police also could not immediately locate a crime scene, she said.

Orton's injuries are not believed life-threatening, Weary said.
