Hamilton County Commission Chairman Larry Henry announced the commission will be deferring its vote on the county's 2010 census redistricting plan pending further consideration.

The decision came after residents in District 6 raised objections to a plan previously proposed by the commission to change the district's boundaries based on new population numbers from the census.

The commission also approved increases of more than $700,000 on two contracts for railroad improvements to Enterprise South industrial park and to donate county land for a park at 2419 E. Third St.
