The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team practiced in full pads for the first time this morning at Scrappy Moore Field. The way coach Russ Huesman limits contact in practice, however, being fully decked out made little difference in how the Mocs practiced.

"It was no different than [Sunday]," Huesman said. "Just because we put these yellow pants on made no difference. We wanted to stay off the ground all day today."

Huesman said the Mocs may do some scrimmaging during Tuesday's 7:45 a.m. practice, their sixth of the preseason.

Freshman tight end Jarrod Coleman suffered a shoulder injury during the first drill of the day and did not return. Huesman said he didn't know the extent of the injury.

After struggling Sunday, kicker Nick Pollard was much sharper on his field-goal attempts this morning. Huesman said he had plenty of confidence in his redshirt freshman kicker.
