"Good Eats" host Alton Brown to collaborate with Tennessee Aquarium

The Tennessee Aquarium today announced the start of a new sustainable seafood initiative.

According to a news release, one-third of all fished species have reached near-extinction due to over selection of too few types of fish for consumption. The Aquarium is joining the growing Chattanooga effort toward sustainable living to help protect wildlife in the sea.

To kick off the program, celebrity chef Alton Brown, host of the Food Network's "Good Eats" will be visiting the Tennessee Aquarium on Monday, Aug. 15 at 9:30 a.m., where he will dive with aquarium sharks. Dr. Anna George, director of the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute, will also be on hand for a presentation.
