Jesse SweatA 22-year-old has been charged with burglary after he was found sitting inside a church with a guitar in his lap.
Jesse Sweat, of 37 Talley Ave., in Rossville, is charged in connection with a break-in at Bible Church, located just down the street from Sweat's residence on Talley, said Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson.
About 1 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to the church after someone reported suspicious noises coming from inside, Wilson said. Deputies discovered the church had been forcibly entered and found Sweat sitting inside with a guitar on his lap, the sheriff said.
A strong odor of alcohol was coming off Sweat, Wilson said.
Sweat was taken to the Walker County Jail and later released on a $2,500 bond, Wilson said. He is scheduled to appear in Walker County Superior Court in November, he said.
