August 22nd, 2011 by Staff Report in Local - Breaking News

A woman was shot about 3 a.m. in front of 2153 Camden St. following a reported robbery attempt.

Retonya Stoudemire told police that she was shot by an acquaintance following an argument about his driving skills. When the suspect stopped his vehicle in front of 2153 Camden Street, he chased Stoudemire from his vehicle to the front of the apartment where Stoudemire said the suspect threatened to shoot her if she didn't give him her money. He then struck her with his gun and the gun went off hitting Stoudemire in the neck.

Occupants at the Camden Street address overheard the shots and found Stoudemire on the porch. They subsequently called police and she was taken to a local hospital where her current condition is not known. Investigators caught up with the 17-year-old suspect and charged him with attempted murder and attempted robbery.
