Hamilton County Sheriff to hold news conference on train deaths

A news conference Wednesday will discuss the death of two people who were hit by a train on Aug. 22 near Sale Creek.

Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. at the sheriff's office, located at 600 Market St., said sheriff spokeswoman Janice Atkinson.

Michael Hennen, 27, and Hannah Barnes, 19, were killed by a train about 6 a.m. on Aug. 22, officials have said. The tracks run through a farm owned by the McDonald family.

Hennen is the son of Tim Hennen, founder of Hennen's restaurant and Big River Grille. Tim Hennen is married to Corinne McDonald.

Barnes is the granddaughter of Marion Barnes, who was the head of Covenant College on Lookout Mountain from 1965 to 1978.
