Hamilton County Schools improve on state report card

Hamilton County Schools improved its graduation rate, along with test scores for reading, math, science and social studies, according to the latest state report card released today.

The county's overall graduation rate increased to 81.7 percent, up from 80.2 percent in 2010 and 70.9 percent in 2009, the report said.

Scores on TCAP, the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program, increased in the county between 1.5 percent and 6.9 percent, according to the report card.
