Cumberland County man shot in dispute over money

Cumberland County, Tenn., authorities have charged a Westel man with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a shooting Monday over money, according to authorities there.

Investigators stated in a news release today that Christopher Allen Taylor, 23, of Gordon Lowe Road in Westel, was charged with shooting 19-year-old Otis Shane Henry in the face at a home at 2171 Paysville Road.

According to authorities, Taylor went to Henry's residence to collect money Taylor said was owed to him. Taylor displayed a handgun and shot Henry in the face, the release states.

Henry was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, where he is being treated in intensive care, authorities said. There was no word on his condition.

Taylor is held in the Cumberland County Justice Center awaiting a bond hearing, authorities said.
