Ron Littlefield, City of Chattanooga MayorA different Hamilton County Circuit Court judge will hear the newest recall lawsuit concerning Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield.
The Circuit Court Clerk's office confirmed this morning that Judge Marie Williams has been assigned the case. The case was originally heard last year by Jeff Hollingsworth, who made a decision in favor of Littlefield.
The recallers appealed that decision and the Tennessee Court of Appeals ruled two months ago that the Hamilton County Election Commission should have had a chance to certify the signatures on recall petitions.
The election commission certified those petitions last month and set a recall election in August.
Hal North, attorney for Littlefield, said last week he would appeal to Circuit Court in the next few weeks to have a hearing to stop the election.
