A pedestrian was struck by a car Christmas Eve morning at about 3:55 a.m. near the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Airport Road in Dalton, police say.

Witnesses at the scene told responding officers that Frankie Davis, age 39, from Calhoun, ran out into oncoming traffic on Walnut Avenue from the Kangaroo Store parking lot and was struck by a vehicle driven by Emmanuel Ayala-Mercado, age 19, from Chatsworth.

Davis was transported to Hamilton Medical Center with head injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.

Dalton Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the crash.

A pedestrian was also struck by a car in Dalton on the morning of Dec. 6.
