Fewer people moving to Tennessee

Tennessee's status as a hot spot for relocation has cooled dramatically during the recession.

In the vibrant economy of 2005-06, for every three people who moved out of Tennessee, four people moved in. Only seven states were pulling in new residents at a faster rate.

But those gains were cut in half as the recession began and then halved again by 2010, according to the latest IRS data, leaving Tennessee saying goodbye almost as often as hello.
