2 I-75 lanes open at Dalton crash site

Two southbound lanes on I-75 have been reopened at the site of a tractor-trailer crash near Resaca. One lane will remain closed for several hours, authorities said around 11 a.m. Traffic is backed up for about two miles.

A tractor-trailer carrying frozen chicken and another carrying chemicals collided this morning. There were no injuries, but traffic has been backed up since about 6:45 a.m., according to officials with the Georgia State Patrol.

Officials said they didn't know what kind of chemicals were involved, but they had been contained and, as of 9 a.m., there were no active chemical spills.

The chicken truck belonged to Tyson, the official said. The refrigerated truck will have to be unloaded by hand before the wreck can be moved, authorities said.
