2nd shooting in a week at MTSU

One person has been hospitalized after a shooting occurred this morning at Middle Tennessee State University, according to an alert issued on the university's website around 11:30 a.m.

The shooting is the second this week at the university in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The university's website states that the shooting occurred at Hanover Street, across from Greenland Drive.

It listed the suspect as a 21 to 22-year-old black male, about 6 feet tall and bald.

Officials believe that suspect has left the area, and police no longer are on the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call MTSU police at 615-898-2424 or 911.

On Monday, one person pulled out a gun and shot another in the hand during an argument in an MTSU classroom building, then tried to hide by blending in among other students before being caught later that day by police, according to news reports.
