Mocs lose at Georgia Tech

ATLANTA - The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga put a scare into Georgia Tech Wednesday night.

The Mocs trailed by just two points with nine minutes to play.

But they never took the lead and lost 62-53 in Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

Glen Rice Jr. led all players with 27 points and Iman Shumpert added 19 for the Yellow jackets.

Omar Watad led UTC with 18 points. DeAntre jefferson had 14 and Ricky Taylor added 13 points.

UTC pulled within 39-37 on a post-move by Jefferson. They had one possession to tie or take the lead, but turned it over. They were within 48-44, but the Yellow Jackets scored on four straight possessions to make the final minutes a little more comfortable for them.
