NASHVILLE - The waiting might be over.
According to multiple reports, Tennessee will receive a Notice of Allegations against its football and men's basketball programs from the NCAA on Wednesday. Both Fox Sports and ESPN, quoting unnamed sources close to the situation, reported that UT is expected to have a hearing with the NCAA Committee of Infractions in June following a 90-day period for appeals.
The reports said the notice will include a charge against UT basketball coach Bruce Pearl of unethical conduct and failure to promote an atmosphere of compliance. The notice will also include infractions committed by former football coach Lane Kiffin during his one year in Knoxville in 2009.
Pearl admitted in September he lied to NCAA investigators about a barbecue at his house in 2008 in which he hosted recruits on their unofficial visits, which is an NCAA infractions. Pearl and his staff also made approximately 100 impermissible phone calls to recruits, though UT's assistant coaches won't be charged with unethical conduct, according to reports.
UT is expected to publicly disclose the notice.
