The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Whitney Hood was named the Southern Conference women's basketball player of the week today.
Hood scored a career-high 40 points last Sunday in the Lady Mocs' 93-88 come-from-behind win against Wofford, and the junior forward leads the league in scoring with 22.7 points per game. She is fifth in the league in rebounding with 8.0 a game.
This is the second player of the week honor for Hood, who sat out last season after transferring from Clemson.
The Lady Mocs (5-8, 2-2 SoCon) host Furman (6-6, 2-1) tonight at 7.
