Suspect arrested in first Chattanooga homicide of 2011

The suspect in the first homicide of 2011 for the city of Chattanooga has been arrested.

Brandon Russell, 29, is charged with felony murder and especially aggravated robbery for the death of Meco Siler, according to a news release by the Chattanooga Police Department.

On Jan. 6 a cleaning employee at the 101 E. 20th St. extended-stay hotel opened the door of Room 233 to find Siler face down in front of the bloodied bed. According to police, the victim's body had multiple stab wounds and marks of a beating.

Siler, 29, a mother of two young boys and a teenage daughter, had lived at the extended-sat hotel since October.
